Research has shown that having high levels of cortisol over time is associated with the development of Alzheimer’s disease. Xanamem is designed to block the excess production of cortisol – the stress hormone, in the brain.

Dementia study at Tucson Neuroscience Research

XanADu is a clinical trial of a drug called Xanamem. It’s being conducted in 174 patients across the USA, UK and Australia. Participants will take Xanamem, an oral capsule, once a day for 12 weeks.

Qualifications include:

  • Must be aged 50 or older
  • Have a diagnosis of mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease
  • Have a family member or friend who can be available during your participation in the study
